Creative protection: Face masks
27-08-2020
Across the globe, people have creatively responded to the challenge of protective face coverings. Here are some nice examples.
- Let’s face it – http://projecthiveminds.com: As it is now common to wear face masks in public, there is a way to bypass facial recognition. By using Face It, an AI rendered face on a mask, you will not be recognized by a facial recognition system. While at the same time you will look more human with a face on your mask, even though it is not really you.
- Transparent face masks are another way to show a more human side. The Amphia hospital in Breda and the Erasmus hospital in Rotterdam are trialing transparant face masks. The masks should enable easier recognition and communication of the carer by the patient. This could be a more ideal way for specific target groups, such as people with a hearing disability and children.
